Basic Casting
Learn not only the step-by-step basics of casting, but also the cause and effect for each step so that you are better prepared to manage and adjust your process. The course will cover waxes, molds, investing, burnout, equipment, metals, quenching/devesting, clipping and inspection. Class includes hands-on work and discussion time.
Instructor(s):
Patrick Sage is a Neutec/USAŽ sales consultant with 10 years of technical field experience including three years of experience with industry casting equipment.
Phil Scott, a graduate gemologist, is a member of the Rio Grande Technical Support team and has been with Rio Grande for seven years. He has 30 years of experience as a bench jeweler and has cast silver, gold and platinum. His specialty is custom, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces.
