Beginning Dichroic Glass Fusing
Create sparkling dichroic glass jewelry and learn about the basic terms, components and elements of glass fusing using System 96 glass. Learn tricks and techniques for glass cutting with hands-on practice. You will enjoy making several pendants and a pair of earrings in class. Your creations will be fired overnight. You are welcome to join Edythe who will teach finishing techniques from 9:00am - 10:00am the following day or you may pick up your glass pieces at your convenience. Also, they can be mailed to you via U. S. Priority Mail for a shipping/handling fee of $6.00.
Instructor(s):
Originally from New York City, Edythe has a Bachelors degree in Art and has studied at Hunter College, Pratt Institute, and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. She has won awards for design, sculpture and jewelry. Edythe moved to New Mexico in 1987 to study art therapy. In 1995 she was introduced to fused glass and has worked with glass ever since; creating unique art pieces, jewelry, mezuzah cases, dishes and fountains. She uses PMC (precious metal clay) to create hand-formed, one-of-a-kind, fine silver settings for her jewelry, and is a certified Rio Rewards PMC instructor.
